Codrescu, Andrei

Codrescu, Andrei - (n. 1946, Sibiu) emigrat in Statele Unite ale Americii in 1966. Colaborator regulat la radioului public din SUA (National Public Radio, New York) . Dupa 1989 a revenit in Romania in calitate de corespondent pentru ABC Nightline. A descris aceasta experienta in TheHole in the Flag, 1989, declarata de The New York Times cartea anului". Urmatoarea carte, TheBlood Countess, 1995 a fost best-seller national. A mai publicat Alien Candor: Selected Poems.1970-1996, 1996; The Dog with the Chip in His Neck: Essays from NPR and Elsewhere, New York, 1996. Premii: National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship for poetry, editing, and radio; the General Electric Foundation Poetry Prize; the Peabody Award for the PBS version of Road Scholar si ACLU Freedom of Speech Award, 1995.
